Massage Therapy
At this point the benefits of massage therapy are well known. Besides inducing an overall feeling of relaxation and contentment, it is a great way to speed up healing processes by promoting increased circulation through tissues.
Massage can be especially helpful when the body is recovering from injury by helping detoxifying tissues of metabolic wastes, lactic acid and inflammatory material.
For athletes, massage can be an essential part of training. Massage can make a huge difference in the overall performance by detoxifying muscle tissues, providing a cleaner internal environment. This, in effect, helps speed up recovery time, preventing soreness and build up of inflammation.
Massage can also be crucial in the early stages of starting a new fitness program. Freeing up tight muscles allows for a more full range of mobility and muscle activation which in turn helps prevent wear on the spine and joints. Massage also addresses the soreness that often accompanies the new demands on muscles and joints when beginning a more consistent and/or vigorous exercise regimen by helping flush tissues of metabolic waste and inflammation.
Jeremy’s massage is a mix of Swedish, Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, Trigger Point therapy, Stretching and CranioSacral Therapy. The blend he uses is dependent on the client and what is happening with the body on that specific day.
